Title: Seminar on School Drop-out in Rural Areas

The town hall conference room was the destination of hundreds of people last November 20th. The occasion was a seminar organised by the local education authorities. The seminar revolved around an urgent topic: dropping out of school in the countryside: causes and solutions.

Participants, including educators, parents, associations and political officials, attended the meeting. The audience reached the estimated figure of 200 people. The activities included mini-lectures and workshops.

The participants agreed that there were three main causes of dropping out of school. The first one is poverty. The second cause is that schools are situated far from houses. And the third cause is that children are needed in farm work and household chores.

The participants concluded the seminar with urgent recommendations. They suggested that the ministry should encourage drop-out students to return to school, support poor families so they can send their children to school and sensitize parents and children about the importance of schooling.

All those who attended the seminar agreed that it was fruitful and successful. Most of them were satisfied with the results, but many others called for further action.

Title: The 28th Marathon des Sables โ€” A Race for a Noble Cause

The 28th edition of the Marathon des Sables took place from April 5 to 15 in the south of Morocco, near Ouarzazate. The main aim of this challenging race was to collect money for the poor.

The competition covered approximately 240 km of desert. The competitors had to carry their basic supplies โ€” food, clothes, a medical kit and a sleeping bag โ€” by themselves. Only water was distributed by the organisers every 10 km.

The event attracted 1017 participants, both men and women aged from 18 to 80, coming from all over the world. The men's race was won by the Moroccan champion Mohammed Ahansal, while the women's race went to the French athlete Laurence Klein. At the end of the marathon, all winners received awards in a special prize ceremony.

In my opinion, the Marathon des Sables is more than a sport competition: it is a powerful symbol of human resilience and solidarity. I hope this event continues to inspire young Moroccans every year.

โ– Key Takeaways โ–

โ‘  Use facts, not feelings

A report is factual. Save personal opinions for the conclusion.

โ‘ก Past simple is dominant

The seminar was held, the participants discussed, the speaker presented.

โ‘ข Organise in sections

Title โ†’ introduction โ†’ body โ†’ findings โ†’ conclusion. Use linkers: first, then, in addition, finally.

โ– Exam tip

If the writing task gives you a table or chart, use ALL the information from it. Skipping data costs marks. Add only a short personal evaluation at the end.
